Shoul i use Hair STRIPPER ?

Hi i live in the uk , i died my hair ( well wanted to dye it like a red brown ) but it came out a black with a hint of red its been dyed for a couple of weeks but i want to have a light colour now preferble a brown wnat can i doo ?? i cant put another due on top can i ? x x
