We are trying to conceive and i was wondering..?

i normally have a 28, 29 day cycle so i'm supposed to ovulate on day 14 or 15. i'm now 2 days before ovulation and i checked my cervix and it's high, soft but closed. I also checked my cervical mucus and it's between creamy and egg-white . do you think i am going to ovulate later? and we are trying to conceive a girl , so we are supposed to bd 2 3 days before ovulation...do you think my closed cervix will affect our chances?
